Google Ads Maintenance – daily/weekly
Select the type of maintenance:
30 Day Ramp Up Maintenance
Week 1 of ramp up:
- Check on campaign the very next day after creating ads to make sure impressions are coming in.
- Check Call Rail.
- Adjust manual bids every day or every other day.
- Add negative search terms if applicable.
- Check on campaign frequently during the first week to make sure clicks and impressions are coming in.
Week 2 of ramp up:
- Check on campaign less frequently if performing decently.
- Listen to Call Rail calls if applicable.
- Adjust bids every other day.
- Add negative search terms every day.
Week 3 of ramp up:
- Communicate next steps with client if campaign isn't doing well.
- If campaign is performing well, only do maintenance every other day with normal Master Maintenance.
- Check Call Rail.
- Add negative keywords.
- Adjust bids.
Week 4 of ramp up:
- If campaign is not performing well: perform audit during middle-end of week and choose next course of action.
- If client is not a good fit for ads, refund them and enter un-link process.
- If client wants to continue with ads, identify optimization problem with ads and make adjustments as necessary.
- Problems could include:
- Landing page needs a different layout.
- New ad text.
- More/different extensions.
- More/different keywords.
- Needs a larger service area.
- Client needs to answer more calls.
- Quality score needs to be higher.
- Certain keywords need their own ad groups.
- Once problems are located, send client monthly audit and inform them of the improvements to the campaign you are going to perform.
- If campaign is performing well, conduct audit of account and send client monthly audit with performance data.
- Make necessary adjustments based on data to improve campaign further.
Enter regular maintenance period:
Maintenance after 30 days
Perform the following basic maintenance every other day every week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday.)
- Check Call Rail.
- Adjust manual bids.
- Add negative keywords based on search terms.
Other maintenance to conduct based on performance data/other factors:
- If a keyword is in the Catch All ad group is performing well (3+ clicks/week), pause it and make it it's own ad group + landing page.
- Increase or decrease budget.
- Add a new service campaign (consult with client.)
- Adjust schedule.
- Update ad text (new specials, new season, etc.)
- Update landing pages (new photos, new text, etc.)
- Add/change up extensions.
- Connect their Google My Business and add a location extension.
